1916 Antique Hamilton Drafting Table Maple / Cast Iron

1916 Antique Hamilton Champion Drafting Table by Hamilton Manufacturing Co. Two Rivers, Wisconsin It's Cast-Iron Legs & Hardware - have been sanded down and given a fresh coat of Satin Black Paint- The original factory flat black (Lead) paint has been removed from the Maple upper frame & been given three coats of a Natural Min-wax and a few coats of Wax. The wooden drawing surface measures 48" (4'-0") x 36" (3'-0") deep x just over 1" thick - made of White Pine w/ It's original Red Oak clamp boards on each end - originally used as a straight edge for a T-square, It's wooden drawing surface is still riddled with hundreds of compass & divider pin holes throughout it's surface - The pin holes stained black as they are Embedded with graphite from the past 90 years of use & abuse.  The finish was removed, surface sanded down & 3 coats of min-wax was applied -  It was just enough to make the Patina and amazing grain of the old growth board really stand out, The photos don't do this justice. The board is complete with all it's original hardware included - In the restoration I tried not to hide what the boards been for the last 90 years of its life - from the compass holes, scratches, X-acto knife blades, screw holes to its Dings & Dents all over the board only adds to its amazing character.
