Exc Vtg Descoware Red Orange Flame Enamel Cast Iron

Welcome! I pay the shipping charges, within the USA.  Description ------- ONE (1), vintage, mid century, DESCOWARE Belgium, oval  BAKER or Roasting Pan, or Au Gratin or Fish pan, cast iron, enameled in glorious, Cherry-Orange Flame (ombré) coloration, with a white interior, and an unusual form - handless, and with a fluted, or “pie crust” edge design. Size is 11.75” x 7” x 1.75” exterior Mark - “FE 28 Made in Belgium” (Not marked Descoware, but it is by them, as this is their early mark convention: “FE” for iron, “28” for the interior length in cm, and “Made in Belgium” stamp.) Shown with a ruler for scale. Hefty! Weighs 2.8+ lbs before packing. Descoware was prized and promoted by Julia Child, particularly because it was supposed to be a little bit lighter in weight than their main competitor, Le Creuset.
