DESCRIPTION: This very handsome early 20th century Ame ri can antique Griswold of Erie, Pennsylvania #6 cast iron skillet or high walled frying pan, with upper and lower pouring spouts and sturdy cast iron handle with wall hanging hook hole, is signed on its baseplate with the famous Griswold stamped maker's mark. The handle's also stamped with the numeral six [6] in rectilinear font. The upper and lower pouring spouts are free of dings, dents or deep abrasions. The cast iron surfaces were thoroughly cleaned of dust and built-up silt, collected on its surfaces over the years, but the cast iron pan hasn't been chemically cleaned to remove built-up sidewall carbon. We wanted to allow the buyer to determine whether or not they wanted to scour it with fine steel wool and lemon juice, in order to bring it back to its stripped cast iron surfaces. The cast iron handle is also intact and without any dents, dings or deformities. Solid and very well cared for over the years. The Griswold #6, 699 cast iron skillet is a kitchen workhorse and ready for duty in your home. What are you cooking your omelets in? There are cast iron frying pans and then there are the famous Griswold vintage cast iron frying pans. It's kind of the difference between a Ford and a Maserati. Those who are lucky enough to own one know. CONDITION: Good to Very Good overall antique condition.
