Offered is this hard to find, Griswold Manufacturing Co. large cast iron Scotch Bowl with bailed carrying handle. This is a circa 1900 to 1915 pattern, with rounded bottom and raised heat ring. A good reference for this pan can be found on page 76 in "The Book of Griswold & Wagner" by Smith & Wafford (blue book). Clearly impressed on the underside is the GRISWOLD (slant logo) ERIE , 3 (size no.) and 781 (pattern no.). Top rim measures 10-3/16 inches in diameter, standing 4-1/4 inches tall. Its weight is 4 pounds 13 ounces. There is light pitting caused by rust. The pan bottom sits flat with no wobble or movement. This has been thoroughly cleaned of all grease rust and carbon by electrolysis and baked seasoned with vegetable shortening. There are no chips or cracks.
