VINTAGE CAST IRON HUBLEY TEXAN JR CAP GUN - STAR LOGO CA.1940 EX. COND. This replica gun contains the colored markings required by law, including a permanently attached orange plug."· Mechanically sound· Trigger works· Cylinder rotates. Solid cast iron, first run of the Star logo version. Likely produced in 1940. As most dedicated cap gun collectors are aware, HUBLEY CAST IRON CAP GUNS with the rearing horse logo set in the grips were only produced for a very short time beginning in 1939. By 1940 they were replaced with the more common "star" logo. This came about because the Colt Firearms Company accused Hubley of copyright infringement of Colt's rearing horse logo. They forced Hubley to cease its use. The gun frame is solid cast iron as is the cylinder (later replaced with a diecast cylinder after WWII).This TEXAN JR shows only modest signs of use with darkening in the cap box and hammer area. The finish, the grips, the mechanism are all in great condition. See pictures for details and let us know if you have any questions.
