The cast iron in the Uno Casa Tortilla Press not only makes for a sturdy, quality product, it also makes it easier to actually press the tortillas! The heavy top means you don't need to strain to make a perfectly round circle of dough because the force of gravity does this for you.
Already pre-seasoned, you can use the tortilla press right out of the box. As it works best with a piece of parchment paper between the cast iron and the dough, we've included 100 pieces of parchment paper to get you started.
And there's no more waste of money or food! When you make your own dough and cook it up in batches as you go, you always have just the right amount of food that you need. Store-bought tortillas are packed full of preservatives and additives to keep them fresher for longer, but your homemade recipes won't have anything in them that you don't want. The fact that homemade tastes better too is just icing on the cake. Pro tip: Corn-based flour will yield the best results when cooking with our cast iron tortilla press. You can use all-purpose flour too, but the high gluten content makes it more elastic so the tortilla shrinks a little after pressing. To avoid any shrinkage, just let your all-purpose flour dough rest a little longer!
