For sale is a nice example of the cast iron "William Tell " mechanical bank, patented in 1896 and manufactured by the J.& E. Stevens Co. The bank measures approximately 6 7/8" tall x 10 1/2" long x 3 1/2" wide and it is in excellent condition for a piece this old: it still operates as it should and it retains 90%+ of its original finishes . To operate, pull back the launcher on the rifle, place a coin in front of the launcher, depress the figure's right foot, and the coin is fired into the castle, knocking the apple off the boy's head, then ringing a bell inside the castle. This specimen is missing the coin trap but is otherwise complete without cracks, breaks, or other damage. Please check the photos as they are an integral part of the description and provide the best overall picture of condition.
