Puritan (griswold) #8 Cast Iron

Puritan cast iron cookware was produced for sale in Sears Roebuck department stores. Production of these pieces was contracted to both Favorite Stove & Range and Griswold. What is unique about Griswold-made Puritan pieces is the handle. Found only on their Puritan pieces, it is flat on top with an elongated reinforcing spine on the underside and a flared end which can be seen in the photos. The cooking surface is smooth to the touch with minimal utensil marks. It appears someone cleaned this piece with a drill-mounted wire brush as there are faint swirl marks which can be seen visibly, but are faint enough they cannot be felt by hand. They will disappear as you build additional seasoning through use. The bottom is clean with detailed logo and lettering. This skillet sits flat but shows very slight movement when the pour spouts are pressed ( 2 business cards). Does not spin. Measurements: Diameter-10.25 Inches Length-15 Inches Height-2 Inches
